Rajasthan Tour By Car Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi

After arrival, spend the first day in the capital city by visiting some of the most iconic landmarks. Start your day in Delhi by visiting the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Humayun’s Tomb (UNESCO) is next. In the afternoon, go to the towering brick-made minaret, the Qutub Minar. End your day with a visit to the Lotus Temple. Night stay at the hotel in Delhi.

Day 2: Delhi - Mandawa (Shekhawati)

Today, let's head to Mandawa with Car and Driver, a quaint town in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. The town is famous for its uniquely painted havelis. Mandawa havelis are also known as "open-air art galleries" which showcase a range of paintings of diverse themes depicting past cultures. Some of the popular havelis are Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Chokhani Double Haveli, Bansidhar Neotia Haveli, Sneh Ram Ladia Haveli, Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli and Mandawa Castle. Overnight at a heritage hotel in Mandawa.

Day 3: Mandawa (Shekhawati) - Nawalgarh (Shekhawati) - Pushkar

After breakfast, drive from Mandawa to Nawalgarh. Another heritage town of Shekhawati, Nawalgarh boasts of havelis that are painted with various paintings. Enjoy the artwork of 19th-century Rajasthan by visiting Bhagaton Ki Haveli, Dr. Ramnath Podar Haveli Museum, Aath Haveli and Khedwal Bhawan Haveli. After this, proceed towards your next destination, Pushkar – the holy city. On reaching the pilgrimage town with the oldest temples and ghats in the country, visit the Pushkar Lake surrounded by the ghats, Brahma Temple and Savitri Temple. Night stay in Pushkar.

Day 4: Pushkar - Jaipur

In the morning head to Jaipur. Visit two of the city's most fascinating sites - the Albert Hall Museum. With amazing collections like coins from the ancient Gupta and Kushan dynasties and Egyptian mummies as well as many artefacts from different eras, the Albert Hall Museum is a paradise for history lovers. Overnight at a hotel in Jaipur.

Day 5: Jaipur

Today, it's time to explore the Pink City of Rajasthan. First visit the Hawa Mahal. The palace was constructed from red and pink sandstone. Next is the Amber Palace (UNESCO). With its walls depicting shades of amber, it is a testimony to the rich craftsmanship of the past. Then move on to your next destination, the City Palace. This palace with its pavilions, temples and spectacular gardens and courtyards is rich in history. Moving ahead comes the 300-year-old astronomical observatory, Jantar Mantar (UNESCO). In the evening visit the local market for shopping. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 6: Jaipur - Chand Baori - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra

Head to Agra while visiting some unique places. The first destination is Chand Baori, one of the oldest and deepest stepwells in India. The stepwell is 13 levels deep and has 3,500 steps. Then, head to Fatehpur Sikri (UNESCO) – The ancient capital of the Mughal Empire is located close to Agra and is filled with palaces, courts, mosques and other monuments. Most of the buildings in the city are built of red sandstone. A place that was once teeming with life, but now abandoned, Fatehpur Sikri is home to an impressive architectural wonder.

Day 7: Agra

Today, visit the Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world. This magnificent mausoleum built by Shah Jahan is a symbol of eternal love. Moving ahead we reach the next destination, Agra Fort. This tall historical fort is made of red sandstone and hence it is also called Red Fort. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, this fort was the royal residence of the Mughals. Your next destination is Itimad-ud-Daulah also known as Baby Taj. In the evening you will see the Taj Mahal from Mehtab Bagh, and overnight stay in Agra.

Day 8: Agra - Delhi

As you move from Agra towards Delhi, you can visit Akbar's Tomb on the outskirts of the city. The Indo-Islamic monument is located in the heart of a natural sanctuary. As you depart from the tomb and head towards Delhi, you take home a bag full of delightful memories with you.
