Day 1: Arrival in Delhi.
Your driver will pick you up from the airport and bring you to your Hotel. Check-in and relax.
Day 2: Drive to Manali (600 km, 13 hours)
In the early morning you will start and your driver takes you to Manali (600 km, 13 hours). This is a long distance by car, anyway the streets to Manali are very good and you can have lunch / coffee / tea breaks whenever you need. After few hours you will be in the Himalayas and can enjoy Himachal Pradesh from its most idyllic side: roaring rivers, charming mountain villages, orchards and terraced fields, dense pine forests and snow-capped mountain ridges are on your way. Check in Hotel and relax.
Day 3: Sightseeing Manali
Manali is located at the top of the Kullu Valley and is the main resort town of the valley. The city is beautiful and offers many beautiful walks. In the morning you can walk to Hadimba Devi Temple, a wooden temple that stands in a clearing of an otherwise dense forest. On your way back, take a coffee or tea in one of the Cafes at the Manalsu Nala river before proceeding to Old Manali. Follow the small side-streets to discover the old traditional houses that were built in the Pahari-style with heavy stone roofs and wooden balconies. Alternatively, walk or drive the 4.5 km to Vashisht, famous for hot springs. Visit the two ancient stone temples dedicated to the local patron saint vashishta, the guru of Raghunathji.
Day 4: Drive to Sarchu (250 km, 8 hours)
Today in the early morning you start your way to Leh via Sarchu. The Manali-Leh Highway is at high altitudes and will take two days in total with stop-over in Sarchu. Make sure you adopt to the height. You will spend the night in the Camp in Sarchu and take your time to relax.
Day 5: Walking in Sarchu region
Sarchu was an important trading point on the ancient Silk Road. It is still popular with merchants, nomads and adventurers. You will stay in Sarchu today to enjoy the splendor of the barren landscape. Take a walk near the Tsarap Chu River. You will spend the night in the Camp.
Day 6: Drive to Leh (350 km 9 hours)
After breakfast you will drive to Leh, the former caravan and trading city. The name Leh derives from the Tibetan word for oasis. Even today, there is a colorful market in Leh and in the streets you will meet the most diverse ethnic groups. After refresh in the hotel, you can take a walk through the market.
Day 7: Sightseeing Leh
Today you have time for relaxing. Visit the majestic 9-storey Royal Palace of Leh, built in the 17th century in the same style as the Potala Palace in Lhasa, or the Buddhist monastery. Walk over the colorful Market.
Day 8: Drive to Hunder Village in Nubra Valley (140 km, 5 hours)
You will drive from Leh to Hunder Village in Nubra Valley, a wide valley with a meandering river, green oases with poplars and grain tanners, in between smaller dune spots, gardens with colorful dahlias or tagetes, with Buddhist places of worships and prayer flags everywhere.
On the way you will see the World Highest Motorable Point Khardung La, 18380 Ft. You will enjoy the trip – «the route is the goal».
Day 9: Drive to Turtuk (80 km, 2 hours)
Visit Turtuk, the last village at the northern border of India. The road is less travelled, but you will have some of the best views ever. Turtuk is the largest apricot producing village in the whole of Ladakh region. The village is predominantly Muslim but does have a couple of gompas overlooking the Shyok river as well. In the evening you will come back to Hunder Village.
Day 10: Drive to Leh (140 km, 5 hours)
You will drive back to Leh today.
Day 11: Drive to Pangong Lake (150 km, 5 hours)
You will visit Pangong Lake, also known as Pangong Tso, a beautiful steel blue lake that lies like a mirage between the high, brown mountains, With a length of more than 130 km, it is the largest lake in the region, about three quarters of the lake is in Tibet. You will stay the night in the Camp near the lake.
Day 12: Drive back to Leh (150 km, 5 hours)
You will drive back to Leh. In the afternoon you can walk in the market, or you can do a ride on a double hamped camel in the desert.
Day 13: Drive back to Manali (250 km, 8 hours)
Day 14: Drive to Delhi (600 km, 13 hours).
Your driver will drop you at your hotel.
